Oliver Twist – a year 6 production…by Zoe and Rosie
This summer the year 6 production is Oliver Twist. It is on the 11th and 12th July for parents. That means we have an enormous amount of work to do to make it perfect. This week we have had rehearsals all morning every morning. While at times it is slightly boring if you are waiting to participate, it is clear that with a lot of preparation it will be amazing and worthwhile.
All the children are thoroughly enjoying the rehersing of the songs due to the fun actions. We have already completed “Food Glorious Food” and “Consider Yourself and Pick a Pocket or Two ” which we are sure the audience will adore.
Caroline is helping Year 6 design and decide what we should wear. We interviewed her and this is what we found out.
How many times have you helped with the costumes for the Year 6 production?
I mainly helped with Alice in Wonderland about two years ago and a little bit of Lion King about 5 years ago.
Where do you get inspiration for the costumes?
I get the inspiration from films, history books, and the Internet
How long does it take you until everyone’s costumes are ready?
It depends, sometimes five or six weeks right until the production…
